David Swan joined Gatehouse as Head of Real Estate Investment in January 2015. Before this he was the founder and owner of Bridgeport Real Estate, a pan-European real estate consultancy. Mr Swan also spent four years as Managing Director of WW Advisors, a Kuwaiti- owned advisory business and was a Director at Arcapita Bank, a leading Shariah-compliant investment firm. During his time at Arcapita, Mr Swan completed transactions in excess of US$2 billion in the logistics, residential, elderly living and self-storage sectors. From 1997 until 2003, Mr Swan worked at Tishman Speyer Properties, the New York-based international property investor and developer.
Will has previously worked on behalf of Prudential’s real estate investment arm, Prudential Property Investment Managers or PRUPIM, where he completed £1.5 billion of acquisitions across all UK commercial property sectors. In this role Will also provided advice for a wide range of funds, primarily for Prudential’s and M&G’s long income funds. Will has also gained extensive UK real estate experience during his time at Savills, as a member of their Central London Investment Team where he acted on behalf of a number of institutional & private investors and REIT’s. Will holds an MSc in Real Estate from Reading University and a BA (Hons) in History from Leicester University. Since joining Gatehouse Bank in December 2011 Will has completed £320.3 million of acquisitions for the Bank’s institutional clients.
Will joined from Waypoint Capital where he worked on building out their international private equity real estate platform. He has over 7 years experience working in real estate investment both on the principal and advisory side, having spent a portion of his career in Abu Dhabi.
Will has a BA (Hons) Geography from the University of Leeds, an MA in Property Valuation and Law from Cass Business School and an MBA from the University of Oxford. Will is also a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
