Chief Executive Officer
Henry Thompson joined Gatehouse as Chief Executive Officer of the Bank on 7 April 2014 having spent the previous 17 years as General Counsel at Arcapita Bank, a leading Shariah-compliant investment firm. Mr Thompson was also part of the firm’s senior management team. Before joining Arcapita, Mr Thompson was an Attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, an international law firm, where he was involved in international business transactions and regulatory matters. Mr Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, Washington DC and graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he gained a Juris Doctorate.
Chief Financial Officer
Twalha Dhunnoo became Chief Financial Officer in April 2011and joined the Board shortly afterwards as an Executive Director. Mr Dhunnoo originally joined Gatehouse as Head of Finance, Operations & IT in September 2007. Alongside the leadership team, he played an important development role and managed the FSA authorisation process that led to Gatehouse Bank obtaining its banking licence in April 2008. Earlier in his career, Mr Dhunnoo held various London-based roles with Ernst & Young, Mellon Bank and Deutsche Bank. He holds a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England & Wales.

Abdulaziz AlDuweesh joined Gatehouse in April 2012. With over 15 years’ experience in the investment banking industry, Mr AlDuweeshestablished his career at the National Investment Company in Kuwait. During this time, he has specialised in senior management roles covering asset management, international equities and hedge fund activity across US and European markets. Mr AlDuweesh is also an executive member of several corporate boards with an emphasis on the energy investment and IT sectors.

Chris Combs joined Gatehouse in 2014. Prior to this, Mr Combs headed the Corporate Finance team at leading Shariah-compliant investment firm Arcapita Bank, where he worked closely with sovereign, institutional, family office and high net worth individual clients. Before joining Arcapita, Mr Combs was a Vice President at KPMG Corporate Finance, the investment-banking arm of KPMG in Chicago. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in foreign affairs and history from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, where he graduated with distinction.

David Swan joined Gatehouse as Head of Real Estate Investment in January 2015. Before this he was the founder and owner of Bridgeport Real Estate, a pan-European real estate consultancy. Mr Swan also spent four years as Managing Director of WW Advisors, a Kuwaiti- owned advisory business and was a Director at Arcapita Bank, a leading Shariah-compliant investment firm. During his time at Arcapita, Mr Swan completed transactions in excess of US$2 billion in the logistics, residential, elderly living and self-storage sectors. From 1997 until 2003, Mr Swan worked at Tishman Speyer Properties, the New York-based international property investor and developer.

Art Rogers has over 20 years’ legal and business experience and joined Gatehouse in 2014, after more than seven years as senior legal counsel with leading Shariah-compliant investment firm Arcapita Bank. Previously, Mr Rogers was a corporate lawyer with the firms Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in London and Washington, and Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault in Boston. Mr Rogers holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in history from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. He also gained a Juris Doctorate with distinction from the Emory University School of Law, where he was a notes and comments editor on the Emory Law Journal.
Abdullah Al-Essa joined Gatehouse Capital in 2006 from parent company Securities House. Responsible for investment and corporate development, he has extensive experience in both fund and real estate investment. Mr Al-Essa currently sits on the boards of a number of real estate companies and investment funds. He is also the Chairman of Saji Real Estate Company, a Kuwait based real estate developer. At the beginning of his career, Mr Al-Essa worked as a structural engineer for KEO International Consultant, a leading international architecture and design firm. He has an MBA in Finance and Decision Science from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Kuwait University.
Osama Al Rasheed
Mr Al Rasheed is the Deputy Managing Director Gatehouse Capital House heading the Wealth Management of the company. Prior to joining Gatehouse, Mr Al Rasheed was a Senior Investment Manager in-charge of investment product development directed to the private clients of Kuwait Finance House. He headed and participated in the development and marketing of a wide range of investment products covering Real Estate, Equity, Private Equity and leasing funds. Mr Al Rasheed has worked very closely with institutional and HNW clients to understand their investment needs and goals and successfully developed the suitable products achieving client’s satisfaction. Mr Al Rasheed holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from University of San Diego, California.
